Home is where life lies. To keep it safe and intact is no one but the responsibility of the owner. A lot of capital and time is invested in building a beautiful home and the increasing rate of crime and domestic hazards has persuaded people to take appropriate security measures. This has led to raising awareness of means and methods of maintaining the safe home environment. There may be intrusion, theft, fire, or shocks from electric wires and data cable connections. Here are a couple of security measures that can be taken for home security.
Perimeter Fencing: Perimeter fencing essentially involves raising large boundary walls on the perimeter of the house and the surrounding estate. This is most appropriate for large estates where intrusion cannot be detected easily. In case of increasing security concern, long and sharp metal wires are installed on the walls and in rare cases current runs through it.
CCTV Cameras: CCTV cameras are best detecting systems. It is able to record the feed 24X7 and stores it for a particular amount of time. The feed helps in detection and reconstruction of events to assist later in crime and theft events.
Electrical smoke alarms: Electrical smoke alarms are typically a preventive security measure where sensors are installed in fire sensitive areas such as a kitchen that detects the smoke arising from fire and raises alarm to take appropriate action. In other cases, a water pipe is also attached to it which activates the alarm and sprinkles water to prevent any fire hazard.
At least one Fire Extinguisher: A fire extinguisher is used to prevent fire hazards. There are situations when small spark leads to major fire such as short circuits. A fire extinguisher should be kept at kitchens where chances of fire hazards are more.
Electronic Doors: Electronic doors prevent unauthorised intrusions in the estate. It also keeps a record/ log of in and exit of persons who entered. It uses a card to access or a number key that should be entered on a ten digit panel to gain entry.
